Tonight we record the fourth movement of my mammoth second cello concerto DARK CITY. This is seven and half minute cadenza that we laid down on Sunday night. Zuill brought EVERYTHING to this: great technique, immaculate pitching, superb and warm, velvety sound that he somehow transforms into an aggressive wall of sound where required, and most of deep humanity that he extracts from this music. I am so grateful for his artistry!
